Old Airport Tantrum Video Misrepresented as Protest Against Immigration Agents

The Claim

In March 2026, a video began circulating widely onand other social media platforms[1] claiming to show a liberal protester dramatically singing Eminem’s song “Not Afraid” after spotting U.S. immigration agents at an airport. The clip was widely shared by accounts supportive of former U.S. President Donald Trump, with captions suggesting the man was reacting to the presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents deployed at airports during a government shutdown.

One widely shared post on March 24, 2026 claimed: “Dude sings an Eminem song in dramatic fashion when he sees ICE at the airport.” The video shows a visibly agitated traveler loudly singing the chorus of Eminem’s 2010 hit while surrounded by people in what appears to be an airport terminal. The footage quickly spread across social media, with users interpreting it as evidence of public backlash against immigration enforcement operations in major U.S. travel hubs.

However, the claim attached to the clip is misleading and does not reflect the actual context of the video.

What CyberPoe Verified

A reverse image search of key frames from the viral video reveals that the footage predates the recent controversy over ICE agents at airports by more than three years.

The same video was posted online as early as March 2023 on platforms including TikTok[1] and the video licensing website ViralHog.[2] According to ViralHog’s official description, the incident occurred on February 28, 2023 at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport in Washington State.

The licensing platform explains that the individual seen in the video had caused disturbances during an inbound flight before being confronted by authorities upon arrival. Police reportedly asked the passenger to leave the airport, at which point he became increasingly agitated and began loudly singing Eminem’s “Not Afraid.”

The ViralHog description states that police officers handled the situation calmly and professionally and eventually escorted the individual out of the airport. There is no indication that the incident was connected to immigration enforcement activity or any political protest.

Further undermining the viral claim, local news reports[1] published on March 23, 2026 confirmed that Seattle–Tacoma International Airport had not deployed ICE agents during the recent policy changes associated with the partial U.S. government shutdown. This means the premise of the viral posts that the man was reacting to immigration agents present at the airport is not supported by available reporting.

Context Behind the Viral Narrative

The misleading posts appeared amid a heated political debate surrounding the deployment of ICE personnel to major U.S. airports during disruptions caused by a partial government shutdown. The move drew significant scrutiny and public criticism, particularly after reports of aggressive enforcement tactics and controversial incidents involving federal agents.

Against this backdrop, old videos and unrelated clips began circulating online with new political narratives attached to them, a pattern commonly observed during high-profile geopolitical or domestic controversies. The airport video became one such example, where an unrelated incident was repackaged to fit the current political storyline.

The song heard in the video Eminem’s “Not Afraid,” released in 2010 also contributed to the viral framing. Eminem has previously expressed political opinions and publicly criticized Donald Trump, including in a widely discussed freestyle during Trump’s presidency and his support for Democratic candidates in later elections. This context may have helped fuel the misleading interpretation that the video showed a politically motivated protest.

However, no credible evidence indicates the man in the video was engaging in any political demonstration or reacting to immigration enforcement agents.

CyberPoe Verdict

Misleading / Old video shared with false context.

The viral clip does not show a protest against ICE agents at a U.S. airport. The footage actually shows a passenger meltdown at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport on February 28, 2023, where police escorted a disruptive traveler out of the terminal.

Local reporting also confirms that Seattle airport had not deployed ICE agents, further disproving the claim attached to the video. The footage is therefore an unrelated incident repurposed to support a misleading narrative circulating online.
